Pilates Plus La Jolla was the first Lagree Fitness studio to open in San Diego, CA, in 2009. This full body workout uses a unique and efficient machine called the Megaformer that cuts your strength training down to 40 minutes! Your core will instantly be engaged within the first 30 seconds of class and we guarantee you’ll experience “the shake” before class is complete. THE WORKOUT: The Megaformer uses springs for resistance. Spring tension allows a greater number of muscle fibers to be used throughout the range of motion and makes it difficult to plateau. Slow and steady, high intensity!

Why cycle? If you are looking to burn calories, Indoor cycling combined with Core and strength training on the Megaformer is the perfect combination of fitness. In our 50 minute Ride & Glide class you will burn fat and gain muscle. nothing compares to a Cycling workout (other than Pilates Plus, of course!). Think about this: a typical cycle class will get you burning as much as 700 calories in just 50 minutes!

RIDE & GLIDE – For those of you who like to mix it up – try our 50-min Ride & Glide class! Ignite your blood flow by starting with an intense, heart pumping 25-min Indoor Cycling class! Then finish the body and core with 25-min of a Pilates Plus workout to strengthen, lengthen and tone your entire body! Ride & Glide will not leave a muscle untouched!

WHAT TO WEAR/BRING – Ride with either your running or cycling shoes, and bring a water bottle and towel. Indoor Cycling is a unique and fun workout for all ages, at all levels of fitness.

International fitness guru Sebastien Lagree has developed his own version of the traditional Pilates reformer called The Megaformer™, and it’s now available at Pilates Plus La Jolla. This newly enhanced reformer empowers Lagree Fitness to create the perfect body.

Lagree Fitness attacks excess bulk in the hips and thighs and tightens the body’s core muscles for abs of steel. The intense 40-minute training sessions, which combine Pilates with strength training, achieve visible muscle definition significantly faster than Pilates or any other kind of Pilates-based workout.

Lagree Fitness is based on the fact that people don’t need more exercise time to get fit, they just need more intensity. The body responds more to intensity than it does to the duration of a workout.

A more intense workout burns more calories per minute, and results in a much stronger post-exercise reaction (also called Post Cardio Effect). After a Lagree Fitness class, you will continue to burn calories much faster for several hours.

Former advocates of hard-core yoga (like the Ashtanga style Madonna swears by) have achieved a lithe, toned body significantly faster with this unique circuit-training program. Even someone who consistently puts in time at the gym each week can achieve the same – if not better – results in half the time. One of the keys to Lagree Fitness is pushing the body to muscle failure. As the term implies, Lagrees’ workout isolates specific muscles until they can no longer move. Ironically, muscle failure is the only proven path to successfully achieving muscle definition.

cancellation policy

To ensure all clients the opportunity to take class, a 12-hr cancellation notice is required to avoid being charged, no exceptions. A $15 Late Fee will be charged to the to the credit card on file if a class is canceled after 12-hrs.

There is a charge of $25 for NO-SHOWS to classes. This means if you are signed up for class and don’t show, you will be charged the no-show fee. If you are unable to make your scheduled class please cancel your spot and give other members the courtesy of signing up.

$209 – One Month Unlimited – Available to all members at all times. This month of unlimited classes (1 x day) is purchased month to month with no extended commitment. No freezing.

$209 – One Month Unlimited – Uncertain of your core ability? Try out as many classes as your abs can handle for 1 month of unlimited classes (1x a day) with no long term commitment.

$150 – 2x Week for 1 Month – 2 classes per week for 1 month. Classes do not carry over to future weeks and must be used each week or they are forfeited.

$199 – UNLIMITED PACKAGE – Sign a contract to commit to 3 months of ab perfection with unlimited classes (1x a day) for only $199. If you want to cancel after the 3 month please notify our front desk 10 DAYS before your next billing cycle as the contract will auto-renew.

$135 – 2x per week for 1 month (3 month commitment) – Challenge yourself by committing to 2 group classes per week with hard-core ab engagement and strength training for 3 months. If you want to cancel after the 3 month please notify our front desk 10 DAYS before your next billing cycle as the contract will auto-renew.

$216 – Revolving 10-Pack (10% disc.) – This 10 CLASS contract consists of a total of three 10-packs. After you use your last class in each 10-pack, your account will be automatically be charged for your next 10-pack. A minimum of 3 pay cycles required. This package will auto renew. If you choose to cancel after the 3 months, you must notify our office 10 days before your next billing cycle.

Each trainer has their own distinct style and background, so we suggest that you take sessions with several of them to find the best fit for you. WHAT IS LAGREE FITNESS™?

LAGREE FITNESS™ is a combination of weight training and Pilates and utilizes the best of both: the strengthening and toning benefits of weight training, and the lengthening and postural enhancing benefits of Pilates in a circuit training sequence. We use slow and controlled full-body movements with constant tension to work your muscle fibers to failure, forcing them to rebuild a more sculpted, stronger and leaner you – remember this is not Pilates it is one of the most intense and effective workouts you’ll ever do! You can expect to burn 400 to 700 calories in a single class because we keep the heart rate up from one exercise to the next, allowing for little rest! And because the support of the Megaformer™ machine eliminates the pressure on joints and the spine, it eliminates extra stress on the body.

THIS IS MY FIRST TIME at PILATES PLUS LA JOLLA – SHOULD I DO PRIVATE SESSIONS FIRST?

The best way to learn Lagree Fitness is to jump right in and take a class. Our classes are small, no more than 10 people, so you will get personalized attention during your workout. Your instructor will give an overview before class and he or she will coach and give direction on all the exercises, including what the modifications are for each one. We are always aware when it’s someone’s first time in class, however, if you have an injury or in the early stages of pregnancy, it is recommended to take a private session first. We also offer a ‘True Beginner’ class if you prefer to start in a smaller learning environment going over the machine and exercise basics.

I HAVE NEVER WORKED OUT BEFORE, WILL I BE ABLE TO DO THE CLASS?

We’re thrilled you’re thinking about getting into shape with us. Lagree Fitness is a very efficient and effective way to burn fat and build muscle. The class is definitely challenging, and if you haven’t worked out in a long time, or ever, you will have to take more breaks in class and that’s ok. We promise you’ll want to come back for more!

WHAT SHOULD I BRING TO CLASS?

– A water bottle. We have purified drinking water available and also sell Boxed Water is Best for $3. – Wear comfortable workout clothes. For the grip benefit and health of everyone, socks are required. We sell many styles and colors of grip socks at the studio if you’d like to purchase a pair. – Jewelry is NOT a good idea. – NO cellphones during classes. Be respectful of others and give yourself this 40-min! – NO strong perfumes as some students are allergic. – A POSITIVE attitude!!

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I COME?

The workout is designed to work your body to muscle fatigue at which point you need to rest. Depending on your fitness level and the intensity of your workout, you will need more or less time to recover. We recommend three times a week to allow your body to properly recover and repair. But some students love the workout so much that they come 5 or 6 times a week. It’s up to you, but please remember to listen to your body.

WHEN SHOULD I ARRIVE FOR CLASS?

Please arrive at least 10 minutes prior to the scheduled start time, especially if this is your first time.

WHAT IF I CAN’T COME TO CLASS I’VE ALREADY REGISTERED FOR? WILL I BE CHARGED?

We require a 12-hour notice before making any kind of changes to yourschedule. Any change after 12-hrs is considered a ‘late cancel’ and is subject to a $15 fee. If you are registered for class and don’t show, you will be charged a $25 ‘no-show’ fee. These fees are not for us to make money; it pays the trainer who could have potentially had another client in your spot. There are few exceptions, but if you have an emergency please call or email us as soon as you can.

HOW DO I SCHEDULE CLASSES?

Online, see above link, by downloading our free iPhone/iPad App Pilates Plus La Jolla or the Mindbody Connect App! We recommend all our members get familiar with our automated online booking system (MindBody Online) here www.pilatespluslajolla.com or by visiting the iTunes App Store and downloading our free scheduling app for iPhones or iPads! These two ways are the easiest, fastest, and most accurate ways to book classes. You create one username/password that will work with both scheduling options.

WILL MY SPOT BE GIVEN AWAY IF I’M LATE FOR CLASS?

Yes, if you 5 minutes late to class your spot is open for someone else who may be waiting. It is very important to arrive on time so you get the full workout and don’t disrupt class.

WHAT IF I’M WAIT-LISTED FOR A CLASS, BUT GET INTO ANOTHER?

We recommend you do not sign up for more than one class. If you end up getting into two classes you are subject to being charged the no-show fee.
